In 1992, Sigrid Johannes, an artist from Reykjavik, Iceland, started a decorative art company in Washington, DC specializing in murals, trompe l’oeil, painted finishes, and faux finishes. She had just completed her MFA in Theatre Design which proved to be invaluable when considering the effects of color and light, achieving exquisite results in space planning. An extraordinary sense of color earned her the respect of Washington’s leading interior designers and architects. When the list of clients began growing she brought into play another extraordinarily talented Icelandic artist, Margret Agustsdottir. Margret’s Reykjavik designer shop, reflected her pleasing sense of style and manner. Together they founded Scene Studios.
